Girls talk leadership at Columbia Mall Lock-In

The Agence France – Presse reports that Girl Scouts are working to emphasize leadership skills in their centennial year. Girl Scouts gathered at the Columbia Mall Lock-In last weekend for some Girl Scout fun, to work on badges and patches, and older girls had the opportunity to test their leadership skills and teach younger girls about subjects like camping, STEM, disability awareness, first aid, and more.

“It’s a great way to connect with your friends and, as you get older, to educate younger girls,” Girl Scout Emma told AFP.

Girl Scout Alison told the AFP about the leadership skills she’s gaining through her Gold Award project stating that it is an achievement highly valued by colleges.
