Yesterday, Girl Scout Ambassador Brianna met with the Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Judge Catherine O’Malley, and GSUSA CEO Anna Maria Chavez during a town hall meeting at the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center. The meeting focused on saving women’s historical sites across the nation and ensuring the history of women is preserved and shared.

Advocates and leaders in the movement for positive media images and Central Md. Girl Scouts have been busy this week in Washington D.C. This morning the final signatures were signed to the Camp Conowingo easement that will provide funds for Camp Conowingo. Girl Scouts of Central Maryland worked during the past legislative session to secure the funds, which will be partially used for immediate water treatment needs at the camp and the remained used as an endowment to fund future camp needs.

Earlier this week, two Girl Scouts from Central Maryland attended a State Dinner Preview and hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama. The girls heard remarks by the First Lady and Ambassador Brooke Anderson, National Security Staff Chief of Staff in which they highlighted the importance of women in diplomacy.
