Last night, Girl Scout Christina Antonini of Edgewater, Md. was honored for the community service work she completed during her Gold Award project by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program that honors young people for outstanding community service. She will receive a $1,000 award, an engraved silver medallion and a trip to Washington, D.C. to attend special recognition events in early May.

The awards program, conducted by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), only recognizes 102 young people.
