Girl Scout Troop 1241 have been selected by the Oakland Mills Board of Directors as the 2012 Oakland Mills Volunteers of the Year.
Girl Scout Troup Leader Rebecca Conover and troop members Kara, Grace, Anna, Liza, Mia, Rachel, Jessica, Rebecca, Virginia, Kaitlyn, Rupini, Leticia and parent assistants Karen Lampron and Jamie Murphy, have volunteered at the Oakland Mills Community Association for the past seven years. Troop members run the Crafts for Kids event at the annual Cultural Arts Festival and assist with our holiday events, Breakfast with Santa and The Polar Express.
“The community association is fortunate to have such an outstanding group of girls and parents who understand the true meaning of giving back to their community. As we celebrate the 100th Year of Girl Scouts we also celebrate our own Troop 1241,” the Oakland Mills Community Association stated in a press release.
The Troop will be honored at a reception in April. Congratulations to Troop 1241!
