Guest Blog: Congressional Aide Shares her Experience on Capitol Hill

By being a Congressional Aide I learned about how a congressional office works on a daily basis. It is really cool because we live so close to Washington, D.C. and rarely get to see how this country is run. I gained a greater understanding about how the government works by asking lots and lots of questions and by getting involved, like attending meetings and working on projects. My favorite part of being a Congressional Aide was getting to work with the press secretary because I am interested in the media aspect of things. When I worked with the press secretary, I got to update the website, send out press releases, and meet constituents who came up to meet Congressman Thompson of the 2nd district of Mississippi.
