Congratulations to Troop 2392 for taking on the Beyond Bars School Supplies Drive this month. You did a fabulous job!
GSCM’s Beyond Bars program provides the Girl Scouting experience to 38 girls who have incarcerated mothers. Through this program, these mothers and daughters to be involved in each other’s lives through bi-weekly troop meetings. where girls and moms work on character-building activities and Girl Scout badges. GSCM‘s Beyond Bars program has been recognized by the National Institute for Justice, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and the Maryland Criminal Justice Association and has bee replicated in 40 Girl Scout Councils across the U.S.
Many thanks to EVERYONE who provided school supplies for these girls so that they may start the new school year prepared. Truly, you found a way to use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.
Because of their generosity this month’s SHARE Spirit Award goes to Troop 2392. Thank you, Sharon Kerr and all of the girls from troop 2392!
