The 2014-2015 Cookie Sale begins Friday, September 12, 2014.  This is a busy time for troops and volunteers as both are working to ensure that the Girl Scout year will be great for everyone. For many troops the annual cookie sale provides funds that help defray the costs associated with activities they will participate in throughout the year. To help ensure that each troop has a successful cookie sale, a series of four training videos have been created to provide support and information for the Troop Cookie Manager.  The Troop Cookie Manager (TCM) plays a very important role in the cookie sale; the videos provide tips, resources and information about key aspects of the job of TCM. The videos can be viewed on your PC, tablet or phone, thus making them easily accessible whenever, wherever and however you choose to view them.  Below is an overview of what each video segment focuses on:

So You’ve Decided to Become a Troop Cookie Manager 
This video segment provides an overview of the essential duties of the TCM with advice and tips on record keeping, communicating with troops and families and how the TCM can help girls achieve cookie sale success.

How to Get & Give Cookies: The Role of the Girl Scout TCM
This video segment provides instructions on how to get cookies on cookie depot day and the essential forms needed to record cookies received from the depot and allotted to girls. The video also includes information on how to swap cookies or get additional cookies from the cupboard.  The segment also explains the two ways troops can donate cookies to the Cookies from the Heart/Cookie Share community service project.

How to Have a Successful Booth Sale: Tips from the Girl Scout Pros
This video segment features great advice and tips on how to set-up and work the cookie booth from some of the Council’s top cookie sellers. This is a great video to share with your troops and provides great visuals for what a cookie booth with “bling” looks like.

How to Use SNAP: Data Entry Basics
This video provides information about what should be entered into the SNAP online database system, i.e. cookie registered girls, troop leadership, initial orders, cookie payments as well as links to ABC Bakers’ tutorials for SNAP.
