The New Girl Scout Year begins with a New Board Chair

LDurbinheadshotpixGirl Scouts of Central Maryland begins the new Girl Scout year with a new Board Chair, Lynne M. Durbin, President and General Counsel of InLine LLC, a business and risk consulting firm. She retired as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Adhesives Research, Inc., a privately-held global manufacturer of specialty adhesives and films in January 2014. She was responsible for the global legal affairs of the corporation, with primary focus on corporate, intellectual property, human resource and regulatory issues.

Ms. Durbin has devoted much of her adult life to not-for-profit work and mentoring, specifically for the advancement of women into leadership positions. She is a member of the United Way Women’s Leadership Council Executive Committee and is a current member and a former president of Network 2000, Inc. She has served on the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland board of directors since 2003 as Nominating Committee chair, co-chair of the Distinguished Women’s Award event, Treasurer, Finance Committee chair, First and Second vice-Chair and Chair of the CEO Search Committee. “Girl Scouts was a very important part of my youth” Ms. Durbin reflected. “I formed long-lasting friendships and learned skills that prepared me to be a leader in business and in my community. As an adult, I have found that Girl Scouts has adapted to the modern world and is continuing to prepare girls to take the lead in all areas of life. I can’t wait to continue to do more with the Girl Scouts!”

In addition to her work with Girl Scouts, Ms. Durbin also serves on the boards of the Parks and People Foundation (Chair of the Urban Resources Advisory Committee), Memorial Episcopal Church (senior warden for three years) and is active with the William T. Walters Associates of the Walters Art Museum. She has been a frequent panel speaker at Association of Corporate Counsel Annual Meetings and at other professional seminars. She is a former president of the Baltimore Chapter of ACC. She also serves on the Georgetown Corporate Counsel Institute Advisory Board.

Ms. Durbin received a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from the Boston University School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the International Law Review. She is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Ms. Durbin lives in Baltimore with her husband and son.
