The Barclay Elementary Daisy and Brownie Troops took a field trip to Johns Hopkins University on Monday, May 16th. The Girl Scouts spent two hours studying emergency preparedness and learning how to take necessary steps to be prepared. They discussed natural disasters, man-made disasters, and had an earthquake lesson. They also put together an emergency bag to take home to their family. It included emergency information, a flashlight, and whistle. They were also taught how to use the flashlight and how to whistle to signal an SOS.
