Sure, they’re awesomely delicious, but beyond the sweetness, Girl Scout Cookies are an opportunity for girls to do extraordinary things and Troop 1026 is here to prove it!
After their first cookie season, the Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies of Troop 1026 decided to use a portion of their hard-earned cookie money to purchase food for Mt. Airy Net Food Bank.
In addition to using their earnings, these go-getters decided they would also put a collection bin at their elementary school. To bolster their efforts, they even spoke on their school’s morning announcements about their food drive.
When they went to deliver their donations, the girls were excited to learn more about the services of the food bank and to have the opportunity to stay and shelve their food.
Troop 1026 thanks their community for their support with the food drive is looking forward to their next community service project.
