Cookie Season is More Fun with Family!

2019-cefp-turnkey-ad-8.5x5.5-cookieseason.pngBe on the lookout for a mailer with great information to put your girls’ cookie sale into the next gear–including information about the new Cookie Entrepreneur Family pins! The Girl Scout Cookie Program not only helps girls learn and hone entrepreneurial skills they’ll use throughout their lives but also allows them to earn funds for troop activities. The NEW Cookie Entrepreneur Family (CEF) pins encourage girls and their families to think like entrepreneurs as they participate in the Girl
Scout Cookie Program.
Girls can receive their free CEF pin by:
• Selling a minimum of 275 boxes of cookies
• Completing all the requirements associated with the pin they are working on and in January & February, 2020 girls can bring the completed
requirement page to Juliette’s Closet. Once they receive their first pin they can work on getting the others every year they participate in the cookie sale!

Look for more details and information in the cookie mailer arriving in homes next week!

Join Us for a Giving Tuesday Happy Hour!

GTFBCover-01.png

Girl Scouts of Central Maryland invites all Girl Scout alums, volunteers, parents and friends (age 21+) to help us celebrate Giving Tuesday at Alexander’s Tavern in Fells Point. A portion of the proceeds will be donated towards our Giving Tuesday goal of $7,500.

If you create your own Facebook #GivingTuesday fundraiser for Girl Scouts of Central Maryland () and have at least one donation, your first drink is free!

Join us on #GivingTuesday and learn how you can provide a place for every Girl Scout to explore her potential, where she can fail and try again, where she’ll learn to change the world. Click here for more information about the event.

Opportunity for Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors to See into their Future

ShadowSquare1.png

“My experience from beginning to end was phenomenal. I am lucky enough to continue my relationship with Ms. Wilson and have spent time with her since our shadow date.” – Avery W., Shadow Girl Scout for Alicia Wilson, Esq. in 2019

Girl Scouts of Central Maryland invites all Seniors and Ambassadors to apply for a one-of-a-kind mentorship opportunity – the Distinguished Women’s Shadow program. If selected, girls will see and learn more about female leadership through the career experience of one of our 2020 Distinguished Women Honorees.

Over the years many Distinguished Women Honorees and Shadow Girls have developed long-term mentor-mentee relationships, providing a source of support as you navigate college and consider careers. Former Shadow Girls are now pursuing careers in medicine, law, and marketing, and value the experience they had through this program.

Click here for more information and to apply. The deadline for applications is January 6, 2020.

The View from Up Here is Grand

Meet our newest high ropes facilitators! These ladies battled the chilly temperatures up at Camp Conowingo to complete our first-ever volunteer training day on the new course.  The training spanned two days, beginning each day at 8:30 in the morning.  They learned knots and hitches, learned how to set up the entire course, learned how to belay a participant up the rockwall, learned how to perform rescues, and even went down the zipline a time or two!  I’m so excited to have these wonderful women as part of our facilitator team.  They are ready to help your girls get outside their comfort zone and up in the air!  For reservations contact our amazing member care team to reserve your exciting day of fun on the new aerial ropes course.
