Volunteers are needed for the 2021-2022 Cookie Kickoff
We are seeking Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador troops and/or individual older girls to help run activities during the Cookie Kickoff scheduled for October 2, 2021.
We are seeking volunteer and girl support for the following activities:
- Creative Marketing
- Cookie Booth Etiquette
- Goal Setting: activity on troop goal/individual goal/cookie share goals
- Cookie knowledge games
- Learn about your cookies: box information, serving sizes, ingredients etc.
- Developing a business plan
- Developing a budget
- Mock booth sales/ mock door-to– door sales/ mock phone sales
- Living the Promise and Law during Girl Scout Cookie Sales (Business ethics)
- Social media postings and marketing
- Cookie box windsock craft
*Other activities and craft options will be added as developed.
Cookies for Good: Are your girls working on Silver or Gold projects? We would love to see you highlight your project with a display and have educational and/or hands-on activities for girls to complete at the Cookie Kickoff.
If your teen troop or teen Girl Scout would like to volunteer at the Cookie Kickoff and/or earn the Service to Girl Scouting Bar please contact Ms. Pat Heinrichs (dpheinr@gmail.com). The service to Girl Scouting pin requires 20 volunteer hours. Pat would like to meet with troops or girls in May or June 2021 to guide them along this process.

NEW GS Events
We just launched a new Event Registration tool gsEvent. You will access GSCM event list/calendar here Events | Event List | Girl Scouts of Central Maryland (gscm.org) to register for upcoming events.
You can also manage and register for events in MyGS. When logged in, click My Events on the left menu, you will see upcoming and past events you registered for. You can click Register for another event, type in zip code and change the search radius to 90 miles to find all of our Council virtual and in person events.

NOTE: Stores will be closed on July 5 in observance of the Fourth of July Holiday, as well as the entire week of July 26-30, 2021 for inventory
Annual Grade Up
On July 1st, GSUSA will automatically move all girl members’ grade up one level. Troops with only one grade level and girls with the same grade in the troop will also be moved up one level. If you need further adjustments to grade levels after July 1st, please email membercare@gscm.org
VTK Update
Materials for the new year will launch August 2, 2021. At that time your current year plan will be archived.
The VTK will only be down for a few hours on July 1 and August 2. Your access to the VTK will continue with current membership through September 30, 2021, afterwards renewed members will continue their access to VTK .
Volunteer Opportunity
In an effort to provide a welcoming environment to all girls who want to be a part of GSCM, we are in need of a Spanish speaking translator to help us provide flyers and program materials to our Spanish-preferred speaking families.
