  • Girl Scout History Chat
  • And more!

Team Gold Members Needed

Are you committed to Girl Scouts earning their Girl Scout Gold Award? If you answered yes, then we may have a rewarding volunteer opportunity for you! We are seeking additional members to join Team Gold. Team Gold is comprised mainly of volunteers who spend approximately 3-4 hours each week reviewing Gold Award proposals and Gold Award final reports. The review is done entirely from the comfort of your own home! All you need is a computer, enough skills to be computer savvy and we will provide the rest of the training. This is a great volunteer opportunity that has a big impact. Sign up today! Questions? Email membercare@gscm.org.

Do You Know Someone Who Thinks Like A Citizen Scientist?

In an effort to increase our STEM capacity building efforts and assure access to and success in STEM for under-served and hard-to-reach populations of girls in grades K-9, we are seeking VISTA candidates to implement an environmental science curriculum. Tied to watershed issues, programming will take place at and involve GSCM’s camp properties. The project period is for 1-year, August 2021-August 2022. For more details and information, email Fisayo Kuforiji at: okuforiji@gscm.org.

Girl Scouts Love State Parks — This year, Girl Scouts Love State Parks is back as an in-person program.  Join Central Maryland for this national event that highlights the deep partnership between Girl Scouts and state parks in all 50 states. This year, our theme is Stewardship, Let’s show the LOVE! Our camping extravaganza will take place at the youth campsites at Elk Neck State Park and Patapsco State Park, both of which have complete bathhouses. Each troop/family will be required to provide their own basic camping gear (e.g. tent, sleeping bag, lantern). Once registration closes, we will work separately with the Patapsco Campers and the Elk Neck Campers to plan kapers, the menu and activities for the weekend, like who will bring which camp cooking supplies, divvy up the shopping list and make a list of desired activities. Camp trained adults will be on-site, so if you have never experienced tent camping, this is an excellent opportunity! Each participant will receive the commemorative Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch and all participants will also receive a commemorative Girl Scouts Love State Parks t-shirt! So, grab your camping gear and, your Girl Scout Troop, your family — or a combination of the two — and let’s get outdoors and show our Maryland State Parks just how much we love them!
