Say It Brave!
GSCM is proud to provide mental health programming for our girls. We heard the requests from our girls and we are happy we could find a program partner—Say It Brave Collective—to better help girls understand and recognize behaviors associated with mental health issues. These programs take place the 3rd Monday of each month, the next Say It Brave program is scheduled for December 20th. We invite your troop to check it out!
Call for Distinguished Women Shadow Girls
The 2022 Distinguished Women Shadow Girl application will be available on the website–gscm.org/dw–next week. As a Distinguished Woman Shadow Girl, high school age Girl Scouts will apply to spend a day with a Distinguished Woman Honoree. Here’s what one Shadow Girl had to say about her experience:
“My day with Ms. Olivier highlighted the importance of good communication skills for customer service, presentations, and interacting with your team. While I plan to study nursing next year in college, the insights I gained from my shadow day at BGE can be applied in a health care setting: I will need to work as a team with colleagues to provide the best patient care and, all that I learned about excellent communication is critical in nursing.”
Interested girls will need to submit their application packet by January 10, 2022. Girls will need to write a 500-word essay explaining why they should be selected as a shadow girl.
Sweet Success
The 2022 annual cookie sale ended successfully on December 13th! Our girls sold 18% more boxes of cookies than last year and increased the per girl average to 132 boxes! Great job all around. Many thanks to our girls and volunteers for helping to make this year’s cookie sale a success!
