Camp Ilchester Update

The leadership of Girl Scouts of Central Maryland is pleased to announce that it has accepted a letter of intent from Howard County, Maryland, to purchase the Camp Ilchester property. GSCM is planning to reimagine and/or relocate the onsite store and nature center at Camp Ilchester after the property is turned over to the County, sometime at the end of the summer. This timetable will also allow us to fulfill our commitments to provide summer programming at Camp Ilchester. We would like to thank you, and the many other people who have worked with us during this process, including the state of Maryland elected officials. Together, GSCM can continue to invest in a sustainable future and increase our ability to deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to our girls across Central Maryland! View the full letter here.

Happy Volunteer Appreciation Month!

We are thankful for all the ways our volunteers make Girl Scouting work. Whether you are a trainer, event planner, troop treasurer, new volunteer coordinator, service unit manager, first aider, camp/outdoor coordinator, or a troop leader – your service to girls will have a lasting impact on their lives. Serving as their role model is courageous. As they watch you in action they develop courage, confidence, and character to be leaders in their communities and their own lives. We appreciate and rely on your willingness to: try new things, expand and develop new skills, share your knowledge, and open your heart to others to help us develop the next generation of woman leaders.

Thank you for all that you do! We could not provide the best leadership experience for girls without you. We ask that you please take a moment to go to MyGS and renew your membership – our girls are depending on you.

Make the most of your spring renewal! Take advantage of our awesome incentives that are earned as you, the girls, adults in your troop, and your service unit renew their memberships! For assistance with renewal please call Member Care at 410-358-9711 or email membercare@girlscoutsofcentralmaryland
