The Orioles pulled off the win over the Nationals, on Sunday, with 8,000 Girl Scouts cheering them on! Broadneck Patch reports that Girl Scout Troop 1832 unveiled a quilt they created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts of the USA and the 50th anniversary of Girl Scouts of Central Maryland. Two hundred and twenty girls from Service Unit 44 worked on the quilt, which will be on display at the Broadneck library throughout March, according to the article. Yesterday, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution designating 2012 the ‘Year of the Girl’ to mark the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts of Central Maryland yesterday received the official proclamation naming 2012 the Year of the Girl in Maryland by the State Legislature.
