Odenton Patch received a letter to the editor from H.C. Lawrence Smith, a civilian working with American troops in Iraq. In his letter, Smith thanked Girl Scouts for their support of the soldiers. Several Girl Scouts visited BWI to greet troops returning from their deployments and sent boxes of Girl Scout cookies to troops overseas. “’Let me tell you what happened when we landed!!!’ is a frequent story when they are recounting the last deployment,” Smith wrote in the letter.
