Cookies Bosses Hit the Slopes

Morgan S. and Liliana W. became new friends during the 2016-2017 Cookie Sale’s WISP Snow Tubing trip. Ten girls sold a minimum of 2,000 boxes to earn the trip. Liliana was so excited because she set her goal very high and she worked hard to make her dream to snow tube come true. Everyone had a great time and can’t wait to do it again next year!

Looking for a Tropical Island Adventure?

Join us at the annual Jamboree! While on your tropical island adventure you’ll discover new art, culture and outdoor activities, connect with other Girl Scouts from central Maryland and take action through service projects.

Cost includes four meals, snacks, program supplies, water bottle, bandana and program patch.

BIZKids is hosting a weekend of business growth workshops June 3-4, 2017 in Columbia, MD.  The weekend includes: outdoor Market Day, a Dress for Success fashion show, guest speakers, social media marketing guidance, exhibits, awards ceremony and reception for young entrepreneurs.  If you are Girl Scout Junior – Ambassador entrepreneur and would like to attend contact, Danita Terry, dterry@gscm.org.

STEM Training

Bring hands-on STEM exploration to your girls by attending a STEM training. Learn about the different STEM bins available for rent, including the STEM Is Fun bins for girls in grade K-3, and the Girls Go Techbridge bins for girls in grades 4-12. After the training, attendees can then rent the bins and STEM materials, as well as gain resources on engaging girls in STEM, including activities that connect with GS Journeys.

Badge Update

The New Troop Camping Badge Designs

Girls’ Choice
The newest Girls’ Choice Badge designs are in! These new badges are all about Troop Camping and even include the Girl Scout Daisy Level!

Badge requirements will be ready for download by June 15 and in the Council stores by August.

Make Your Own
As you may know, the make your own badge tool is being discontinued.

With the Girls’ Choice badge process now in place, Girl Scouts of the USA will use data from the Make Your Own tool to inform topic options in the future.

What if girls are interested in a topic that does not have a badge associated with it?
If girls are passionate about a topic that is not currently reflected in a badge, we encourage them to explore the topic through other avenues—perhaps a Take Action project or a destination.

When will the design tool shut down?
The design tool for Make Your Own will shut down on June 1, 2017.

When is the last day to place an order?
The last day to place an order for a Make Your Own badge will be June 1, 2017.
